Savannah Lengnick is El Refugio’s new Visitation Coordinator. In the role, Savannah schedules volunteers who wish to visit a detained friend at Stewart Detention Center through our Visitation Program.

Savannah is a nursing student at Augusta University. She will graduate in 2021. She spent two years at the University of Georgia

studying Public Health and Spanish. Savannah has been passionate about immigrants’ rights for many years, as her grandmother immigrated from the Dominican Republic and her grandfather immigrated as a refugee from Romania. She has seen how immigration policies have impacted her grandparents and hopes to assist others who are affected by similar processes. She has volunteered with El Refugio for the past year and is excited to begin her work as Visitation Coordinator.
